MojiHeat Roller

MojiHeat Roller: A Heated Roller by Moji

The long-standing partnership between Moji and Product Development Technologies (PDT) has led to numerous award-winning products that have been brought to fruition. Starting 5 years ago with the development of the Moji 360 and continuing with the Moji Foot and Moji Curve, our teams have joined forces yet again. Together, we've created a game-changing product: MojiHeatTM Roller, a heated roller that combines the benefits of traditional foam rolling with the comfort and relaxation of heat therapy.

Both teams brought a unique perspective to the product development process: Moji carries a wealth of knowledge regarding fitness and massage therapy while PDT combines talented designers and engineers with years of product development experience.

"Working together has allowed our groups to become an extension of one another, allowing for a seamless integration of ideas," says Victor Viner, Founder of Moji. "This has proven successful for us with our legacy products, and we are excited about what our collaboration has generated yet again."

The team spent time exploring materials that can heat up quickly and retain heat for a prolonged period of time. After analyzing a variety of plastics, plastic additives, and the concentrations of each, the team identified a unique combination with the desired properties.

Initial Concepts

The MojiHeat Roller continues to evolve the brand language leveraged in their original product line, which was developed by PDT. By combining the legacy design elements found in the Moji 360 as well as the Moji Foot and Moji Curve, the new design continues to strengthen the recognizable Moji brand language while speaking to heat therapy. The roller needed to be flexible in design, making it easy to carry, simple to heat up, and intuitive to use while maintaining a competitive price point. Multiple proof-of-concept prototypes were built by PDT's engineers.

The result of the team's efforts is a game-changing heated roller. Utilizing an innovative two piece design that fits easily into most microwaves, MojiHeat Roller retains heat while rolling for warm up, recovery, and pain relief. The product eases muscle tightness, soreness, and pain for the ultimate rolling experience.
